Kelly Clarkson has credited a weight loss drug for her slimmed-down frame.
While chatting with Whoopi Goldberg, who recently lost weight with the help of the Type II diabetes weight loss drug Mounjaro, Clarkson opened up about her own experience.
“I’ve lost a lot [of weight] as well,” she told Goldberg, 68, on Monday’s episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
“Mine is a different one than people assume but I ended up having to do that too because my blood work got so bad.”
While the “American Idol” alum didn’t disclose the name of the prescription drug she’s been taking, she insisted it was not Ozempic.
“My doctor chased me for two years and I was like, ‘No, I’m afraid of it. I already have thyroid problems,’” the mom of two, 42, said.
“Everybody thinks it’s Ozempic — it’s not — it’s something else, but it’s something that aids in helping break down the sugar. Obviously, my body doesn’t do it right.”
“My heaviest, I was 203 [pounds] and I’m 5 [foot] 3 and a half [inches tall],” Clarkson added. “It’s funny because people assume, ‘Oh she must have been miserable and depressed or whatever,’ and I was like, ‘No, I was not.’”
While the “Since U Been Gone” hitmaker hasn’t confirmed the amount of weight she’s lost, Extra TV reported she’s down 60 pounds.
In November, Clarkson was accused of using Ozempic to achieve her slimmed-down look.
But in January, the singer claimed she lost all the weight thanks to diet and exercise.
“I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor — a couple of years I didn’t,” she told People at the time.
“And 90% of the time I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway. I’m a Texas girl, so I like meat — sorry, vegetarians in the world!”
Elsewhere, Clarkson claimed that long walks and cold plunges helped her to shed the weight.
“Walking in the city is quite the workout. I’m really into infrared saunas right now. And I just got a cold plunge because everybody wore me down,” she added.
